If I were to encapsulate my extensive leadership journey in a single word, it would be Service. My career began with a 30-year tenure as a public-school educator, during which I also earned an MEd in Biology and a PhD in
Curriculum and Instruction from UNCG. I served as a principal for 16 years in three different schools. This foundation paved the way for a remarkable trajectory after my retirement in 2011. First, as an Executive Coach and
STEM Design Coach for 11 Principals in five school districts across the state with NC New Schools. Then, as a professor and executive coach at Wake Forest University and High Point University for 3 years and 8 years, respectively. Despite these achievements, my aspiration to serve extended beyond public schools and higher education. I sought to empower business owners and team leaders to excel in leadership development, professional objectives, and personal growth. This ambition led me to attain the prestigious Maxwell Leadership Certification under the tutelage of the renowned John Maxwell and his exceptional faculty. With this certification, I gained access to exclusive materials and developed my programs to facilitate, speak, train, and coach those seeking to enhance their leadership skills. My expertise also includes certification in the Maxwell Method of DISC, allowing me to provide insightful assessments of individual and group dynamics.
